What is the difference between a 110v jigsaw and a 240v jigsaw?

The difference between the two forms of jigsaws is the operating voltage. The 240 volt jigsaw plug straight into the standard mains sockets of any houshold or workplace.

The 110v jigsaw operates at 110v. This is a much more safer working voltage for power tools. The jigsaw is powered via a 110v transformer. The transformer plugs into the standard 240v mains socket which then steps down the voltage from 240v to 110v. The 110v jigsaw then plugs into the transformer and works the same way as a 240v jigsaw. Then 110v version also has a safty trip switch via the 110v transformer. If the jigsaw develops a fault while in use the trip will cut the supply power to the equipment .
